After studying painting at art college (Dip A.D hons), I then went on to do commissioned paintings and produce screen prints for a number of galleries. I had editions published by Seen Gallery in Knightsbridge and Christies London. At the same time I was teaching in various educational establishments.
More recently I have been concentrating on sculpture. I make sculptures out of clay, wood and stone, make my own moulds and cast in various materials.
My sculpture is in collections in the States, South Africa, the Far East and Britain and I exhibit primarily in London, and the South. I am a member of various Art Societies including Surrey Sculpture Society where I show work in Gardens such as RHS Wisley and Savill Garden (Crown Estate) and the Mall Galleries London. My clients include the Princess Michael of Kent and I have been invited by the sculptor Philip Jackson to show work at Chichester Cathedral, 'Sculpture in Paradise'.
I have a passion for shapes: whether they be the flat or implied shapes in paintings, or the ever-changing shapes seen in three-dimensional work. Equally I love colour: the natural colours of wood, stone or metals but also applied colour: bright, lush or subtle.
I use simple line and shape to get to the essence of a theme and try to show vulnerability and innocence of human and bird form. In my larger sculptures I attempt to extract a power yet make the theme reflective. All my work has a rhythmic signature.
My latest work includes photography where I try to capture full the atmosphere of a moment.
