Timothy {Tim} Simmons lives in Aldershot. He embarked on an artistic career 1978 attending Southampton school of art. Later after an HND in ceramics he went on to work in several potteries making domestic and garden wares.
Around the late 1980s the opportunity to change direction came by way of carving wax for lost wax castings. Supplying a net work of jewellery and silversmith workshops with carved wax original models to be cast in bronze and precious metals for prestigious awards and presentation pieces. While still working in wax around 2010 he changed direction for a second time concentrating on carving stone. He now works mainly carving stones like granite, basalt and other hard stones that can be found in various colours. He also like to paint landscapes in oils when finding the time from stone carving and the occasional commission from his clients in the jewellery and silversmith workshops.
