A lecture for Farnham Art Society by RONNIE IRELAND D.A. B.A. (Hons)

EGON SCHIELE 1890 - 1914

THE EROTIC NEUROTIC?
EXPRESSIONIST BAD BOY?
PRECOCIOUSLY TALENTED ARTIST WITH A TRAGICALLY SHORT LIFE?
VISIONARY VIEW OF LIFE, DEATH AND SEXUALITY?
DEVELOPER OF A UNIQUE LANGUAGE OF PAINTING?

Schiele is all of these. He needed all of these drivers to produce his revolutionary art. We will look at his life, work and influences in a career of less than a decade. A career which produced a body of work which still resonates today.
