Despite the obvious trials and tribulations of the previous 18 months and a limited period of organisation, Farnham Art Society are celebrating the largely successful completion of their Summer Art Exhibition at Parker Fine Art Auctions.
Exhibition organiser Nick Hithersay, Chair Janet Hamilton-Lacey, Secretary Jean Breddy and members of the committee are grateful to Parker for providing the ideal location and floor space, Hambledon Village Hall for the exhibition boards and to the many talented members of the society for submitting a substantial collection of eclectic and inspirational artworks for display.
Although the main purpose of the exhibition was to show what local artists can produce with a variety of mediums in both two and three dimensional form, each of the submissions was available for sale and a number of pieces made their way to new homes on completion of the exhibition.
A popular feature of the week-long show was a public vote for favourite 2D and 3D piece, the results of which were as follows.
2D Best in Show — Urban Beauty by Hilary Dancer (shown above), 2nd Surrey Common in Spring (Stephen Kinder), 3rd Golden Explosion (Lizzie Crawford).
3D Best in Show — Moon Gazing Hare by Alan Wallis (below), 2nd Dame Judi (Carol Orwin), 3rd Luna (Cookie Galloway).
