Jan Hamilton nee Lacey studied at the Chester School and Laird School of Art at Birkenhead in the late nineteen sixties early seventies securing a place to specialise in Graphics Design at Preston Polytechnic. After a brief career and bringing up a family Jan returned to painting in the early nineteen nineties.
Jan specialises in Portraits in Pastel, Watercolour and mixed media and has won many prizes internationally and in the UK.
Jan was accepted as an exhibiting member of Farnham Art Society in 1995 (where Jan now holds the position of Chairwoman.)
Accepted as an exhibiting member of The Portrait of Australia in Sydney in 2002 Jan mainly sells her work through commissions but in recent years has adopted a more commercial approach and technique which has proven to be very successful.
