I work in pure watercolour and, if the need arises, use only a limited amount of white gouache. A lot of the time I start without any preliminary drawing and enjoy seeing the interaction of pigment and water.
I have been making artwork since 1990 after completing a pre-degree foundation course and have been a member of FAS since 2009. Having flirted with other media I became addicted to watercolour and find this painting media suits my inquisitive and impatient temperament to get the image in my mind’s eye down on paper in the minimum amount of time concentrating on either obscuring or enhancing my impression of reality.
My work is shown in group exhibitions in Hampshire, Berkshire, Surrey, London and France and I enjoy commissions of any type.
